As a girl raised in the hip hop era I was overjoyed to find out style maven June Ambrose was getting her own show. June is responsible for the Shiny Suits Puff wore and the Mary J that was so hood and so fly. She is responsible to emancipating Mimi’s breast from a shirt and turning Jay-z into a grown man burning his jeans and jersey for a more refined grown up look. June is the official stylist of the US version of the X factor and that is great considering she got her start working at MCA Records. June’s show Styled by June, premieres in March on VH1 and the maven finally is getting her just due in the world of fashion. Mediamyxx:The Passion of the Tim

When University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow started his career in the NFL with the Denver Broncos, he came off a storied college career in Gainesville. While his rookie year wasn’t one for the history books the NFL star begin to get more attention for his off the field life than his winning ways. So is Tebow a typical jock with models and mayhem in the off-field, no he is a man of God and apparently it’s an issue. As Tebow began praying after touchdowns and standing firm on his believes he became a sensation for mockery by late night pundits and nay sayers everywhere. In this day and time if you have any kind of morals or standards you are tagged boring, and fake. It is pathetic to me that is Tim was juggling two models he would have a better reputation than getting on his knees to pray. Look I am not religious by far but what is happening in society when praying and having strong faith leads to backlash and ridicule. At what point to sports pundits grow out of the “jock” stage and show some time of brain inside their over muscular brains? For his part Tebow is unfazed by the attention and continues to work at his craft on and off the field. As the Superbowl approaches and Tom Brady and Eli Manning take the field I can’t help but wonder when Tebow will get his turn to rub his God’s Son reputation all in these haters faces. Because let’s face it at the end of the day the man is a winner and has the heart of a champion which should be all that matters in the first place, right?

Mediamyxx:Lana Del Ray

For weeks all I have heard about is the buzz surrounding new singer Lana Del Ray. It’s like she came out of no where onto the hipster scene and them boom she bombed on SNL and now all the music “critics” are writing her out of the game. I have not heard her album yet but I do know she shouldn’t be expected to be perfect most artist don’t get SNL their debut album in the first place. Looking at her pictures she is a fly chick but how she will do in the long run remains to be seen. I will be on her website listening to her music tonight and wanted do know what the music listener was thinking. What do you think about Lana? Mediamyxx:Unwanted Help

I love Viola Davis and beamed with pride seeing her and Octavia Spencer win for their performances in the summer smash The Help however, I must admit I have never actually seen the movie. I often wonder why the only roles people of color win for or receive any kind of critical acclaim for are roles where they play stereotypical characters. The comforting mothering character, or the angry neck rolling” sista” ie a Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls really the spectrum of emotions allowed by the Hollywood foreign press. Well to say writer Toure took that train of thought and rain with it is an understatement. His riveting piece turns a mirror on Hollywood and begs the question what is it about roles about Blacks are hired help reigns to true in this day and age. Read his article here :http://ideas.time.com/2012/02/02/is-the-help-the-most-loathsome-movie-in-america/ so let us know that you think in comments or @mediamyxx @akireshenri

Mediamyxx:Jobs Continue to Rise

243,000 more jobs were added to the  US economy in January continuing the upward trend on economic stability. Of course the new couldn’t come at a worst time as Mitt Romney and his dislike for the poor would have you believe the only way to recovery is lowering taxes for the rich and letting it trickle down.
