Mediamyxx:Hotel Prices Up, Economy Up?

I read an interesting article at the Economist today that points to rising ADR for hotel room rates indicating a turn in the economy. Businesses are letting people travel again and they are paying more for rooms which give hope slowly but surely the economy is starting to turn around. The article does caution that construction of new hotels is down so it warns not to be too optimistic but its one in many signs Americans are ready to start spending again. Mediamyxx:Unemployment Down

  • Employers added 200,000 jobs in December bringing the staggering unemployment rate down yet again. The jobs added ends the 2011 year with 1.6 million jobs added to our economy versus the bleak 940,000 in 2010 shrinking the unemployment rate from 9.1% to a new low of 8.5%, the lowest it’s been since 2009. Another great sign that the economy is turning around is young workers are being hired again. The unemployment rate now has fallen four consecutive months.
